The Summit is indeed to what I was referring. I heard great things about it from several people who were there and I'd be happy to be involved with the next one. I'm sure the workshops are excellent as well.

And I do totally think you have a great place! (The November thing is still in the works, by the way.)

I'm the only loser who trolls on the TapeOp messageboard.

Interesting. This is the result I've been trying to get for years. Now that I've got I, I'll go away. Please feel free to have fun, productive discussions without me. Unless someone brings up bar codes. Then I'm back like a case of the clap.

You know what else is interesting? That fact that this dude in Nashvile is trying to do something cool and you're being a total jackass about it. If your comment had been posted in one of the forums I moderate, I'd have a hard time deciding whether to delete it or leave it to show everyone what a total jackass you are. But I don't moderate this forum, so I post in it just like anybody else would.

Wait. Sorry. I'm wrong about that. There's nothing interesting about any of this.

alright guys- let's stay focused here. this is about me & my workshop! ;)

chris- i appreciate your understanding of what i'm doing w/1979; working on building community through monthly vinyl parties, semi-annual recording workshops and annual recording summits. it's really been a blast the last couple of years meeting tons of folks through these events and it's helped to keep my recording spark alive.

@?,*???&? , i can add the topic of forum etiquette to the workshop if you'd like. it seems that's a skill you haven't quite mastered.
(now that was just a good-humored poke, ok!)

back to the workshop facts:

when: April 10/11 (& 12th)
where: "Welcome To 1979" Studio, Nashville, TN
why: 'cause it's cool and way, way hands on. 10-12 people tops, so topics are picked by attendees! i even book (that means PAY) a band to come in for a day to be a pin cushion for us to try techniques on.
how much? $200 for the weekend, another $200 for the 3rd day (which is limited to 6 people) that covers super-in-depth tape machine alignment techniques. YOU will be aligning a tape machine.

if you've gone to one of our events/workshops/summits before, please let other people know that they're *cough* legit and share your thoughts!

if you have any questions about the workshop and/or how to sign up, please email me at cym@mindspring.com and feel free to call me at 615 476 6272

rock out!

Hopefully I can talk my wife into paying for this for my birthday this year. I'm only about 45 minutes away and this sounds to good to miss!
