neumann microphone repair

I've got a M149 on the fritz and I was wondering where to send it for repair. It is no longer under warranty, is it worth sending to sennheiser or do any of you know a better (perhaps less expensive) option?

The M149 is still in production, so I would just send it to Neumann USA. They are great to deal with, and turn the mic around surprisingly fast for you.
The system is quite good. Go to their website and print up a barcode/repair order and you tape that to the box and they deal with it.
I had them deal with the guts of a FET47 and a TLM170. The capsule was specifically not to be touched. I would have sent it to Klaus for that, but for switches and component failure type stuff, Neumann USA is great.

Joel beat me to it. The service division at Neumann USA is fantastic. You actually have to go to the sennheiser site to get a bar code, which skeeved me a out a little the first time I did it, but they do a great job and have original parts. Although if it was the capsule or a mic with an out of production tube in it I think I would go to someone more boutique-y. The downside of that being time (It took Korby 7 months to get me back two mics when they quoted me two weeks).
