LA Audio compressors

Post by theslumlord » Sun May 24, 2009 12:01 pm

I've been looking at one of their compressors. Does anybody have any of their gear? Any other thoughts on them? I don't really know too much about them, and some of my searches have come up blank.

Thanks everyone.

They are not awesome. They are okay.
There are like 793 other choices that come to mind before I would suggest getting one of their pieces of gear. I dont have anything against them, but if there was one of their units in a rack somewhere, along side of a Dbx 160A, and I needed to compress something, i would be sad that there wasnt just two of the Dbx's instead of the LA thingy and the dbx.

I have one of the LA Lites by LA Audio, a CX2. It''s a nice clean comp with built in crossover points for the compressor making it good for complex signals, multiband stuff, etc. It's no LA2A for sure but it's more usable than a lot of the pro-sumer comps out there... and didn't cost me too much.

I appreciate the input people. It's nice to have comments from those who have used the gear. I've got a small handful of compressors that I use already, but I'm always up for adding some variety. Most of gear that I look for falls into a budget of $250 to $350. And that's usually used, street prices.

thanks again.
