What kind of mouse do you use?

Post by ThePitz » Tue Jun 09, 2009 10:41 pm

I've been using an Apple 'Mighty Mouse' for the past two years...

Lately i've found it to be quite 'sterile,' with a 'loose' low end.

I'm looking for something a bit 'warmer' and more 'transparent.'

Any suggestions?

:D

I use a Logitech MX-1000 Laser mouse ... It's warmer, fatter, punchier.

... and besides. it's got frickin laser beams!

I think the modern replacement is the 'MX-Revolution', but seriously, my 1000 has been great. Battery life is excellent too, seems to go a long time between charges.

Kensington Turbo Mouse. There is none better.

I use the same mouse. It's fantastic, except I think the action is too low. About 40% of attempted left clickings result in an accidental double click. I need to take it to a good tech for a set up.

What do you think? Pleck or no?

It's got it's ups and downers. I like the scroll ball a lot.

different trackballs. take up less space. I feel its important to switch up your mousing device on occasion to avoid RSS and carpal tunnel shit.

Fuck all that cheap ass Chinese Logitech crap. I recently got a NOS G.E. mouse from 1967 on Craigslist. I'll never go back! Sure, it weighs 19 lbs. and you can only move it side to side, but it's vintage. Vintage.

I use one of these too, but I swapped out the stock op-amps with some Burr-Browns. It really makes the highs shimmer.

No.

But I'm thinkin' I may re-cover mine in tweed, and wire a monster cable to it so I get better highs and polarity and such.

I also use mighty mouse (wired). I have gone through one so far. The first one stopped vertical scrolling. As soon as I switched from the logitech to the mighty mouse I noticed a lot more air and openess in the mix. I heard that Dre is designing a new mouse called the "bass thumper mouse" to be released in Q4.

ok for reals,
I use a logitech marble mouse (track ball) and also a Microsoft 'trackball optical' with a wheel and 5 buttons. (those things always crack me up, I never bother to configure any of those crazy extra buttons)
The main difference is that one is a thumb track ball and the other is a finger trackball.
Like I said, if you are also a musician as well as an engineer/producer type, it behooves you to watch out for that repetitive stress syndrome crap.
I have encountered it twice in my life already in a big way and it is no joke!
Doesn't help that my meal ticket is IT support, and I spend almost all my free time on my pair of DAWS, recording guitar, bass, drums and keys.
(too bad I cant sing or I could do it all!)
