Thanks, everyone for your advice (both about the sequencer and about what to avoid in Austin). I ended up selling Little Saint. Sure, it's a small unit, and $60 is not much dough, but I may be moving to a new job and a new town soon, and I kind of decided it's time to purge old things weighing me down (figuratively and literally--need to shed a few pounds, myself) and make some new beginnings. Yes, it was hard to give up my little friend, but I think he was getting really sad, being neglected so much in my house, and will be happy with the guy who bought him. New owner intends to use Little Saint live and on recordings with a band he just started. And the little guy will have a friend to play with, as he will be the second MMT-8 in use in this band. I feel OK with the whole thing.

ok honestly, if you have two MMT8's in a band it really is time to look at a Laptop and a midi interface.
Though I suppose it could be two different keyboardists.
The one band I know that even attempts something similar live has never had a single set where something doesnt get out of sync.
