70's Fender Deluxe Reverb - Needs work - Any Schems?
I came across a Fender Deluxe amp from around the late 70's. There isn't much info on it for the year or anything. It does say Patt. #44 if that says much to anyone. It needs some work to get running again. Does anybody have some schematics or drawings that may match this model? Any help would be great. Thanks

What's wrong with the amp, specifically?

You'll almost certainly need to replace the electrolytic caps in the power and bias supplies. The pots are probably going to be shot as well. Are the wires you say have come loose, are they the ones that go to and from the reverb tank and speaker, or are they inside the chassis?
I overhauled a basket case silverface fender (super bassman head) recently that sounds like it was in similar shape to yours. it had seen some moisture in the inside of the chassis and the circuit boards had gotten a little warped, so I was careful to check for shorts before powering up. It got all new pots, electrolytics, and tubes. It cleaned up pretty good, but I think I will have to go back into it and adjust or replace the tube sockets, because one of the power tubes keeps cutting out.
I've heard that it is a bad idea to try to de-rust transformers- the rust on the laminations can actually improve the tone of the amp according to some. if moisture has gotten inside the xfmrs though, there might be damage to the bobbin. I have no personal experience with this- just random unverifiable information from the internet.
good luck, and beware of high voltages.

If I remember correctly, two of the wires were going to both of the 6v6 tubes from one of the transformers. Most of the moister seems to mainly be on the outside of the transformers and chassis. I think it may have just been from sitting in the humidity for so long. Tube amps are some what new to me but I can get them figured out. I am going to get a couple books and I found a bunch of good information to do so. After I get this amp working again I want to start building tube amps. Thanks for the reply man, take care.

It doesn't really appear that anyone tried to remove it. I think time and weather just oxidized the wire and it eventually broke off. I found this amp in a repair shop and the owner abandoned it because of the cost of repair i guess. I don't have any documentation on what it was in repair for nor do I have a trouble report. I just can't see why someone would abandon an amp like this ya know.
