It's actually not confirmed he's dead, just in a coma...

you know what? that dude could dance his ass off. jackson five era singing was unreal too. its a shame that the level of fame he acheived (to say nothing of his alleged effed up family life) chewed him up and spit him out like that. very sad. presley-esque...

Great talent. Even his later stuff still had something very cool going on with the vocal harmonies. It's a shame that such talent often comes with significant personal demons.

Come on fella's - leave the wacko Jacko out of this for the moment. His music is/was untouchable. Now to go put on my "Thriller" SACD really f***ing loud and let my mind be blown...

It feels weird for such a huge international icon to pass away. He lived a true bizarre and interesting life. The guy that had the top selling album of all time is dead.... That just feels weird.

I can't leave it out. That's all his death means to me. I used to dig his stuff sometimes, but now I just get creeped out listening to his shit. It's like going to a Tom Cruise movie for me. I'm not going to give him his props as a musician if I can't give him his props as a human being first.

well, his impact on popular music is incalculable - as close as you can come to the beatles. the alleged other things: of course people can have their own judgments, whether he was convicted or not, but we don't really know the truth. he was a weirdo who was certainly inappropriate in his behavior, but also a magnet for psychotic moms . i mean, I know OJ is guilty, I don't need a court to tell me that. With MJ, I'm just not really sure either way.

Although not a fan by any stretch, I had a lot of respect for him as an artist up to and including "Thriller." But that ended when he started carving his face off and adopting a mile high messiah complex.
