This even got picked up on national news.

United has in the two days since that came out said they will make it right with him.

So to pay for his $1200 guitar repair, I wonder what he spent on studio time and video production?

(not to snark....I love the video and the song, very funny and very well done)

Justice Has No Price.

:P

Besides, he says that even with the repair the guitar still doesn't play right.

I think the only true justice would be if he got to throw the guy who threw his guitar.

I'm sorry, but I really think that song is lame.

He'll parlay this into a much bigger career. I've had three friends tell me United is a horrible Airline.

Actually although not my cup of tea, I thought that was a really good song.

Several years ago James McMurtry wrote a song about a flight attendant trying to take his guitar.

I guess that's what I shoulda done when FedEx smashed my just-restored Vox Beatle to bits. I'm glad his story is having a happy ending.

Mike Knott of the band Lifesavers had a guitar stolen on an airline (possibly by a flight attendant) while it was sitting on the seat right next to him. Wrote a pretty great song about it too.

Anyone transporting a guitar on a plane without an ATA flight case deserves the damage they get.

This was settled 35 years ago, wasn't it? Oh, I forgot, the kids didn't read their history.

My son just passed this song and video along to me on Facebook. I enjoyed the song but really laughed at the video. My kind of humor I guess.

My uncle had a $3000 (in 80's dollars) classical guitar smashed pretty badly. While in a brand new $1100 ATA rated case.
Of course the baggage cart backed over the case and caved it in to accomplish this. So it it a bit above the call of duty to expect a case to support the wieght of a small forklift. Still, why was it on the tarmac anyway?

Sampsonite back in the 1960's used to run a TV ad showing gorillas throwing around suitcases as baggage handlers. Not much has changed.

Don't be that guy. Insure, use an ATA case or buy an extra seat for it. For Fenders I just use a gig bag and take it on the plane. If an attendant scoffs, I pull out a screwdriver and begin taking the neck off. A couple of turns and they find a spot for it behind some seat or bulkhead.

some airlines allow 'gate check' meaning you take it right up to the gate, hand it to a flight attendant, then it goes into storage someplace.
they then hand it back to you on exiting the craft.
