this looks legit.

With Flex Time Editing, Drum Replacement, new Guitar Amp with loads of FX, very easy import of channels with content and plugins from other sessions, etc...

If they manage to get the editing to be as good as Pro Tools (still wasn't quite there on 8 ) then it's going to be ace. Drum replacement is very good news.

flex time and improved editing look like enough reason to pay the 200 for this. at least for me. I don't know how long to wait to see if its a buggy piece of crap though.

Also, I just got off the phone with the mac store. They won't have it in stock till Sat.

Damn, I also really like the "Create New Sampler Track" feature. I have wasted so much of my life cutting something up with the / key or the marquee-select->set-locators->copy-paste->set-tempo-by-region-length-and-locators->opt-click and then opening up esx and setting up a map for all this little regions.

I'm surprised how like...actually relevant to daily workflow the new features appear, as opposed to like "LOGIC 9 NOW INCLUDES SAMPLES OF REAL ALIENS SINGING!" or some other big but gimmicky feature.

Definitely going to upgrade. Wonder if I'll take a perfomance hit, though. I'm exclusively itb on a macbookpro with 2ghz and 4gigs ram. Though I have been eyeing a refurbed mac pro, lately...

in the demo vid, they show a popout menu that lets you do pitch-only, time-only, or pitch&time, and they slow the track (time only) and record a part, then speed it back up, but one would assume in pitch&time mode it would work beatles-style.

Not only does Logic 9 look great but that website loaded
with demos for almost everything is amazing.

The drum editing demos are pretty sick... the phase-locking option is pretty nifty, too.

I really dig the virtual guitar pedalboard you can drop in as a plugin. Such great creative possibilities there!

I must admit, the features they've added pretty much encompass what I wanted them to add. The editing within quick swipe comping will make my life a hell of a lot easier.

Looks good to me. Here's to hoping it's not buggy.
