Yeah, you'll get a driver with the Echo that was custom written for that card.

Those intermittent crackles are probably related to your CPU load - if the computer is taxed too much, the ASIO4ALL driver can't compensate for the limitations of the soundcard. ASIO4ALL is a nice band-aid, but it sounds like you're ready for the next thing.
