So....what's the latest on "Where to get Reel to Reel T

Post by thereminman » Thu Aug 27, 2009 1:51 pm

I know this question's been asked before,
but I also know, things have been changing back and forth
like the wind.

What's the best source these days for a substitute for
Ampex/Quantegy 456-----I'm looking specifically for 1/2".

MANY THANKS for any info.

(and thanks for your patience....like I said, I know it's been covered...but it's been a while)

I just bought some from the source listed above, also suggested by the_snowfields. They were really reasonably priced and FAST.

is anyone getting good rmgi these days?

i've had some shitty tape from them.

ATR services tape, while more pricey, has been nothing short of stellar.

I'm selling a ton of consumer-grade 1/4" tape on the Buy/Sell/Trade board - 41 10.5" metal reels with once-recorded material. :)

I'm going to try that spice-it company.
