building an A/D converter
building a stereo A/D converter to best transfer to cd burner.? only need two channels. simple. highest quality chips.
what do folks that think?
havn't gotten the cd burner, yet. how do you bypass the onboard converters?
i'm thing about just getting the tascam.

you only need something that does 44.1. You bypass the converters by going into analog ins on the new converters and then out of the digi outs (spdif or aes) then into to the digi in on the burner. If you use aes, you need a word clock connection too.... i think.

If you're a little bit sneaky you might be able to buy an eval board from TI, Analog Devices, AKM, Cirrus Logic, or another company of the like. Usually you need a bench supply to power them up so that might be an extra purchase. But what you'll be getting is a state of the art converter with the layout of the PCB done by the engineers who designed the chip. So it will probably be done quite well.

Just read the pdf manual before buying so you're sure you understand the interfaces and that you'll be able to use the board without any out of the ordinary equipment/know how.
