Logic demo?
Logic demo?
Am I totally blind (say yes) or is there really no demo version of logic 9 available to try before I buy?
If there's an apple store anywhere close, you can try it out on the machines there. Not the same as demoing it in your studio environment, but you can get a feel for how it works. Depending on the store, you might be able to find someone who really knows the program there and get them to show you some things about it.
I do prefer Reaper's model--download a fully functioning version that never gets limited and trust the person to buy it. But I'm prefering Logic Express's plugs, instruments, and functionality to Reaper's Mac version these days.

Yeah, the Apple store would be the best bet, as dgrieser suggested.
I'd imagine there is no demo version due to the large amount of support files required by Logic (EXS library, impulses, plug-ins, loops, etc...). I think the smallest functional install size is about 8GB, so it would take you a while to download! (The full Logic Studio install is over 40GB!)
From my experience, it's totally worth the $499.
