Little Green Glue Question
Little Green Glue Question
How thick is Green glue after installation when its sandwiched between two sheets of drywall? 1/8 inch? 1/16? Negligible?
Thanks!

If you're talking about the outside finished surface... then yes. tape and mud is fine.
You can go the extra mile and run a bead of caulking down the mud bed first... but it's really not necessary. If the rock is installed in an acceptable fashion those seams are small enough that the only thing that's going to leak through them are very high frequencies... which are easily stopped by mud and tape.

Exactly. And part of the "acceptable fashion" would be to stagger the seams so the seams of the first layer do not coincide with the seams of the second layer.norton wrote: If the rock is installed in an acceptable fashion those seams are small enough that the only thing that's going to leak through them are very high frequencies... which are easily stopped by mud and tape.
This is a factor you can't get when using a single sheet of factory damped drywall.
