looking for a source for 2n5783 and 2n2270 transistors. trying to find a place that doesn't require a minimum order and reasonable shipping rates. any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking for a cross from NTE? Mouser carries their parts. Alot of times with obsolete parts NTE buys up stock of them then reprints their own part number across them if they don't already make a cross reference.

Most transistors don't mind what they're called and it's quite simple to replace something with something very common. You just gotta identify the basic parameters and realise the job they have to do.
