Mic inputs & bantam patchbay...

Post by BradG » Fri Apr 02, 2010 10:00 am

Is phantom power the only reason NOT to do this?

I've got a Digi 002R whose mic inputs I hardly ever use. When I do, it's never with a condenser. It would be nice if I could bring them up on some of the unused points of my Bittree patchbay. The switches for 48v are on the back and I could just leave 'em off all the time.

How come the built-in patchbay on my old Sound Workshop 34 allowed all kinds of crazy mic-pre patching?

You can do it. You can even run phantom through a bay. Some frown on that though, but I do it.
