What legacy DAW are you still using?

Post by Front End Audio » Mon May 03, 2010 1:10 pm

I know they are still being used maybe its an old version of ProTools or maybe its an old Paris system either way I just want to know what it is that that those DAW's have that modern DAW's don't. Maybe everyone is using the most current updated version of today's DAW's but I just thought I would ask!

Cheers,
Nicholas

Hah Paris, I had Paris system for awhile..

I'm still in Pro Tools M-Powered 7.1 because...well I'm cheap...and I don't really record to Pro Tools anymore.

Session 8, a Digidesign/Avid Pro-Tools "Jr" setup from 1995.
8 track limit, 16 bit. Pretty good hardware, converters sound better than anything else I've used in the price range they fit.

Still use em all the time.

made the jump to the new Logic but still use Tracktion 2 (not T3) for ease/speed of use and the one-window interface.

Still have SAWPro installed.

For video, I'm still using Sony Vegas 5.

Cakewalk Pro audio 9

I don't think is it better then any newer DAW out there; it is just the first one that I bought.

I tried the new sonar and pro tools, I think I am just use to easy menu set up.

I just scribble waveforms on clay tablets. :)

Cool Edit 1.2a until about a year ago, when I my colleague lent me his Audition 2.1 discs. "Hey, real-time EQ, nice. . . ."

PT 6.9.

I prioritized a better front end, over a new computer, and since my workflow got completely f*cked everytime I worked with ver. 7, I didn't worry about upgrading.

Now that 8 is out, and I actually need a faster, more powerful computer, I'm hoping to upgrad to a new Mac and Leopard soon.
