PSU for Lexicon fx unit question

I have been told that this PSU will work for my Lexicon MPX 100

It seems alfully small in physical size though?
ANy thoughts?
I have a multimeter, how do I test it to be AC output 9v 1a?

That looks like a DC output supply. That's what the solid & dashed parallel lines indicate.
I have a multimeter, how do I test it to be AC output 9v 1a?
Put the meter on the VAC scale. Touch the probes to the connector. Read result.

For an unregulated AC supply, expect the unloaded reading to be somewhat higher - maybe 10 to 12 VAC.

It's definitely DC. The 2nd hint is that it specifies polarity.

It probably wouldn't cause any permanent damage. Probably won't work right. Might be an interesting effect you'd never accomplish any other way!
