Strange Weather construction blog
So the first installment of the construction blog for our new space is up on http://sonicscoop.com. It's basically packed full of every bit of information I could think of from looking for a new space over the last two years. If you've got any questions please feel free to email me or just ask them here if you think they'd be helpful!

Yep, there's a basement but it's really only set up for storage. Theoretically I could spruce it up a bit but it's always gonna be loud from the studio. I may make the one stone room in the corner into a chamber, and I'm planning to keep the plate down there if I can figure out a way to get it down.
Studio is ground floor, I'm planning on living on the 2nd and the 3rd is a rental (which is right now rented to strange weather's other engineer, Daniel Schlett).
The way I got the building the ground and second floors were combined for use by the doctors office and there was a tenant in the third floor. I had to get the tenant out (she was paying $600 a month for a two bedroom on graham ave and there's no way i could pay my mortgage on that!) and got some friends to move in who won't mind the construction going on all around them. The first and second floors need to be completely stripped down to the structure and started over. The whole building was build without any plans as temporary housing for the dock workers on the waterfront. Then the depression struck and they buildings just stuck around. Since I'm completely redoing the second floor I figured I may as well live there, plus if there are any sort of noise issues at all the only person who would complain is me.

I never noticed this place is along my standard running route, studio G too. It's a small world. It always amazes me when I look at these buildings and figure there's nothing in them but ghetto apartments and angry baby mamas and find out awesome stuff is being done inside them a quarter mile from my apartment.
Real friends stab you in the front.

Second entry is up, and it's all about my attempts to design the space and how I ended up working with the brilliant Mr Wes Lachot (http://weslachot.com).

I was walking down graham a few times... but forgot that's what street the new place is... but was wondering in the back of my mind the whole time... "I bet Marc's new place is around here... it seems 'familiar'" ha!
