I was recording in Cubase SX2 a couple of nights ago. I wanted to turn some effects on and off on an audio track. I enabled automation record on my track, played through the track, turned my effects on where I wanted them, went back, took the track out of automation record, put it into automation read mode, played the track... and the effects stayed on. No automation at all. Why? I've been looking at the Cubase help files, and I've done everything correctly, as far as I can tell. I USED to be able to do automation with no problem, and I've been using Cubase for about 10 years now. Any ideas?

If you are talking about insert effects, you need to hit the other bypass button, not the on/off button. If I remember right, it's the yellow one.
The on/off button changes the delay compensation, so it won't let you do that with the automation.

You're right. That did the trick. Thanks!

It took me the better part of a year to figure that out.
