Radio Sweeps From The 70's & 80's - Where To Find Them?

Post by mechanicalmastering » Fri Sep 03, 2010 6:29 am

Looking for samples, either paid or free, from the 70's & 80's. Mostly 10 seconds or less, consisting of music/sounds that a DJ can add voice-overs to. Anyone know of a good site for this? Thanks!

Maybe you could make your own using some static from freesound.org:

Thanks a lot, but I think we're trying to stay away from the static. More like cheesy lofi music samples that sound like they came from a vinyl record.

no idea where to get them, but if all else fails you could indeed make your own with some old records and a couple fm transmitters and a lot of creative editing.
the tape is rolling, the ones and zeros are... um... ones and zeroing.

Do a google search for "airchecks." There are people out there who collect them.

Can't get filedropper (the entire site, not just the download links), to open for some reason. Did a search for airchecks, found mostly radio station call letters, (which are unusable), but I might keep looking, thanks!
