Logic plays region's audio before playhead reaches it

Post by jmpace » Sun Sep 12, 2010 12:34 pm

I've got this problem where a logic will play the audio of a looped audio file and sometimes a midi region before the clip actually starts (when the playhead is not above the audio or midi region segment) Hope this makes sense...

Specifically, I'm running Waves guitar tool (amplification AU) and some mysterious audio from the plugin plays before the audio of the actual looped guitar riff comes in and before the playhead reaches the audio clip.

Any ideas on how to fix that?

Forgive me if you've already tried this, but you may want to open up the Settings menu and check under Recording to see if you have a count off or pre-roll enabled. If your do it will start that specified amount of time (or count) before recording, then loop to the exact specified start point the second time and on. It doesn't actually record anything before the indicated start point while counting off or pre-rolling, just gives playback.

Not sure if I understand you completely...

I do use preroll. However, the problem I'm experiencing happens during playback, not tracking.

Hmmm, you got me then. I'm pretty new to Logic myself, that was just the first thing that came to mind. You might just check your sync setting for midi, but I can't say I've run into that particular problem on playback before.

Might be just a glitch.
Try right-clicking and reconnecting media (or similar verbiage).
Final Cut does a similar thing to enveloped tails too.

You may need to adjust your Azimuth.

Is there a per-track delay function? Cubase has a slider for it on each track...I haven't used Logic since there was a PC version...
