repairing a MIDI keyboard

Post by kingnimrod » Tue Sep 28, 2010 2:37 pm

I have one of these Edirol 50 key deals and a few of the keys have gone non-responsive. Keys don't stick -- they just don't send MIDI data.

Any tips on repairing one of these? I have yet to pop the case open on it to take a look.

You need to see what kind of key switch they use. Wouldn't be surprised to find membrane switches under there, just like a TV remote control.
