Hey everyone, thanks for all the replies! I thought you guys had really good common sense ideas about choosing a mixer. The band pretty much decided to go with the Michigan without comparing his work to anyone else's (even though several people offered to make sample mixes). The sample mix I heard from Mr. Michigan I wasn't a huge fan of (that's an understatement), but the rest of the band apparently loved it, and I began to feel like I was an embattle president fighting for universal health care and just kind of gave up my crusade for a different mixer.
We are from the mostly the Logan Square area of Chicago and play a raucous style of Folk 'n' Roll ( think The Band meets Tom Waits meets Iron & Wine ).
