Recording an ipad/iphone?
I want to track some ipad instruments in my daw.
I've tried, but the signal is really really low. How can i bring the level up?

I record a lot of toy sounds (gameboy, old casios, walkmans, etc) and the headphone amps from these guys work fantastic as a "pre-amp" for that stuff:

I did come across this:
http://endhits.portlandmercury.com/endh ... our-iphone
it allows you a 1/4" in for a mic/di line into the ipad/phone and then has a 1/4" out for amplification.
I assume that if the signal leaving the device it at an appropriate level to feed a guitar amp, then the level should be perfect for feeding DI into my interface.

I just got one of these:
http://www.newsignalprocess.com/site/nspbreakout/
and enjoying it very much. It's a breakout box that gives you a 1/4" input and output to your phone/pad, needs to be stereo though. I think they're working on a new version.
My favorite part about doing stuff on the phone is being able to easily copy and paste audio between my 5 or 6 favorite apps and most record for looping or tracking.
