How jingle bells by the singing dogs changed music forever

don't know where to post this

Contains a nice summary of the transfer of German recording tech to the Allies post-war and the interesting creation of the timeless "hit".

That's cool. I had no idea that song was that old.

A lot of people don't realize how late in the singing dogs career that was either. They could barely stand to be in the studio together and often came in at separate times to complete the overdubs. By this point the Rotweiler had already left the group and those deep barks are actually the dauchshund slowed down. That's why they never toured or played live after it was released. They did do a reunion tour many years later, but it was mostly a vanity project for Mike Love and some of the former members of CCR, since all of the original members had been put to sleep.

It was discovered that the song was actually a rip off of an old Howlin Wolf tune.

I think a small software company called Digidesign sold aftermarket e-phroms of dog barks for your fancy Oberheim drum machine in the '80's.
