Opti Drive Control - alternative to Plextools?

Post by ChrisNW » Tue Dec 28, 2010 1:33 pm

Hey all,
I'd like to run C1/C2 error checks on my final production masters. Since the Plextor Premium drives seem to be going up and up in cost I'm wondering if anyone's tried using Opti Drive Control as an alternative. Looks pretty cool and says it's compatible with a number of drives. Thoughts?

Bump.

Still curious about this. I think it'd be a good idea to avoid locking myself into buying the dwindling supply of used Plextor drives out there.

Based on a number of reports from folks I trust a lot it seems that Optidrive Control's BLER check is simply nowhere near as accurate as Plextools , Clover or Stagetech.

Best regards,

Thanks for the input. I guess this is why the Plextor Premium drives continue to go up in value. So weird to see used CDr drives for north of $120.
