So my puppy got into the control room today and destroyed my best headphones that I check mixes on while mastering. (Sennheiser HD-580 that I have had for a very long long time)
It looks like they still work, but he somehow extracted and ate the entire ear cup/pad deal. Both of them. So my questions are:
Is it even worth seeking replacement earpieces (not just foam, but the plastic mounting rings that seem to "click" into place) since they don't make this model anymore? Has anyone had their good headphones repaired ever?
Is replacement necessary, and if so - what is the closest direct replacement, is it the HD-600 or the HD-650? They both look pretty similar to the chewed up 580's.
It would be pretty sweet if I could just get, and pop in two new earpieces, but I am a pessimist, and nothing is ever easy.
Headphone Repair/Replacement help?
