Really stuck finding part for a Fender Mustang Bass

Post by iamthecosmos » Wed Jan 05, 2011 1:30 pm

I've lost a screw from one of the pickups for my 70's Mustang Bass and I can't find a single damn place on the internet that will sell replacements. I'd buy a box of the things if I could find out where. I've taken one from my spare, a 2002 reissue, but that still leaves me with one bas with a sunken pickup.

Any Mustang owners out there who can help me? I'm going nuts trying to find this one tiny screw.

Hi,

A Picture with dimensions would be helpful.
I have a few guitar tech friends who may have some of these laying around.

Cheers

Have you contacted Fender directly? Something tells me that if the screw off of a reissue fits your model that they've got them lying around, and I have a feeling that it is the not the only model which they use that part.

I'm going to see what my local tech makes of it on friday, though I'll post a picture later. I've got a pack of standard Fender screws and they didn't fit, I'll try contacting them directly though.

I've literally taken screws from vintage fenders and went to home depot to find others to match. They're just screws.

I was gonna say... have you tried your local hardware store. Just cause it's music gear doesn't mean it needs music screws.
