No doubt! I keep that one in a special drawer for when I really need it. Lady Day's eyes just kill me, riding the dragon and following the music. In a word: Bliss. I get shivers everytime. Everytime.

Nice to see such a magnificent shot of the mighty m160, but the author could have pointed out that Beyerdynamic has keep this lil jewel in production and ready to rock throughout the drought.

The story of that session is the fact that she used to be with Lester Young, but was currently with Ben Webster. It's Lester Young's solo that kills me every time. He's just playing straight to her and she's nodding back at him. Damn.

"We've had a lot of drummers, they'll put up this ramshackle might-as-well-have-been-run-over-by-a-truck, piece-of-junk drum set and they?ll tell us how they want the drum set to sound. It's like pulling down your pants and saying, 'I want to be John Holmes.'"

Haha. Nice.
