How It's Made

Post by akg414 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 6:01 pm

Not sure if this was posted, but I was watching the show "How Its Made" - and what did they have on? How Neumann U87s are made.

Cool, cool, cool 8)

That is cool. I wish they would have shown how the gold sputtering works.

All that has been discussed and gone over a bunch of times. They get pretty in-depth over there. Sputtering is a crazy process. Out of all aspects of mic production, this one is definitely not something most of us could manage to do ourselves. :)

I saw it. For whatever reason I really love watching that show, and it's always exciting to see something like that pop up, or when they show guitar factories. I've seen how drums are made before but it'd be nice to see them on there too, they do a pretty good job.

They've done both drums and cymbals on there several years ago.

There is another one where they do Royers. From the cnc of the housing to the rolling of the ribbon. That show is awesome!
I think I might be able to help with the whole Pan-Pam dilemma.......

I've literally been watching it for the past few hours straight on the Science Channel. Just watched them spin aluminum pots - pretty amazing stuff.

Yeah, that show is ALWAYS entertaining no matter what mood I'm in or what they are making that day. I saw them make harps on there once...

Yeah, this show is great.

Saw an episode about making pedal steels the other day, it was really interesting.

I've been watching this all night again, haha. They've shown a lot of music things - cymbals, electric guitars (Godin factory), drum heads, guitar strings, and guitar amps will be on the next episode. Good stuff.

And who shows up just to the right of the video in the "suggestions" (at least when I checked if the link worked)?
