Kinda reminds me of how Roland is selling the Octa-Capture...they claim it will set optimum recording levels...I suppose we'll start getting mixing boards that will automatically mix albums "to optimum levels" in the near future...

That sounds accurate to me. That's what meters are for.

Don't confuse gain staging with mixing. Two different things.
