ha! totally a positive thread - there should be more of those over here!

I had posted how stoked I was on my final mixes & this just kicks it outta the park - such a happy experience!

Ha, made me laugh, Scott! I know it's nervous-making from both the band's end and the ME. But like christmas if the magic arrives. Hmm, Santa Sound Mastering, has a ring.

Definitely agree with OP that you do get what you pay for. Frustrating when good music is released hobbled and lumpy by either skipping mastering because the band doesn't understand, or awkwardly ozoned through some hyped presets.

So Emily used tape slap effects during mastering...or...?

One wonders how echolocation could help during mastering...

i used to always be SUPER nervous sending masters back to people. at this point i'm pretty confident in my ears and my room, so i feel like if it sounds good to me here, people are going to be happy. and they are! but still....i think we've all, at one time or another, gotten stuff back from mastering and been like "WTF did they do to my beautiful mixes?"

and that really, profoundly sucks.

i could go on a long-winded rant about ME's doing too much, but we're keeping this thread positive!
