Laptop Shimmy Shake!

Post by kRza. » Thu Feb 24, 2011 3:23 pm

hey folks,
I've looked everywhere & can't find those shock absorbers DJ's use for laptops live on stage to keep the bass from shaking the hard drive into submission. Not really my world & don't even know where to start.

Anyone have a link, or reference to some?
THANKS!

The economical solution is racquet balls. You'll need to build a platform incorporating them, but it's probably still far cheaper than those shock-absorbing feet that are marketed toward DJs. I've used this method a bunch, and it was suggested to me by LTJ Bukem, who like LOTS of bass on stage.

For example, you could get a paver or a small pizza stone and superglue a racquetball "foot" on each corner. Maybe a small piece of black cloth to make it pretty.

Good luck!
