Upright Pianos under $3500?

Acrosonics are generally good pianos. I'm a little surprised that it was described as "dark" here; usually they are just the opposite due to old hammers that have become hard over time.
The Yamaha U series is fantastic. You really can't get much better than that for the money. Well built, great tone, easy to tune, stays in tune, quality workmanship.
Whatever you do, always have a qualified piano technician check the piano out first. You don't want to be stuck with a dud. I also recommend professional piano movers.
