Yamaha REV7 Error Code "E2"

Post by Packy » Sun Jul 10, 2011 9:44 am

Hi, y'all,

I've recently acquired a REV-7 that appears to be in fine shape. It was rarely used and serviced about 5 years ago, but pretty much hasn't been touched since.

Upon firing it up the screen is stuck on the opening page (YAMAHA REV7 V 1.0 8505), and it never displays the effect name/parameters/etc. Plus, the 2-digit LED display says "E2" and it's frozen that way. Signal passes through it but none of the buttons do anything and there is no audible reverb.

I've opened the unit up and everything looks to be okay. The only possible problem I see on the inside is a bit of discoloration around the memory battery, which suggests it may have leaked I guess? The battery was replaced when it was in the shop 5 years ago.

Has anyone seen this error before? I can't find anyone else talking about it online.

Thanks!
Packy
