Post by dickiefunk » Mon Aug 29, 2011 2:03 am

Hi,

Has anyone on here had any experience with both of these channel strips?

I would be interested in finding this out as well. A friend of mine has a coupla Eureka's and, from what I've heard him do, they sound pretty darn good. The Symetrix piece has alwasy intrigued me, though...

I have a 528. It's a nice tool. Not a primary pre, but it is handy. I use it as an insert a lot too.

Don't know about 528 but always been very pleased with my Eureka.

I have been using the original Symetrix 528 for years as a vocal preamp. Love it. Great channel strip, IMO. No experience with the Presonus, sorry.
Check your mix in mono.

Wow, I don't know why but I thought that Symetrix was a company that was out of business for a long time. I'm not sure why, but I guess I often see people talking about "those old Symetrix units can be..." and I guess I didn't consider that that was opposed to newer units. Blew my mind when I googled Symetrix 528 and it came up on Sweetwater! Now I'm curious about it too.
