Record-O-Van and gratitude.
A couple of years ago, I had a studio budget and came here asking questions about how to invest. I just wanted to express thanks to everyone who advised me investing in room treatment; Especially Ethan Winer, JWL and Snoopy23 for specific advice on executing the build.
Well, I built the studio, worked for a while, moved, built another studio, worked, moved... And decided to build this thing. I'm still tweaking it, (curtains, on rear windows, etc.) but the basic structure is done and it's enabled me to work a lot more frequently and in just about ANY locale.
I submit, for your consideration, Record-O-Van.

Believe me... I've thought about tape. I need to get new pictures up... I have a Soundcraft Spirit Studio 24 in it now, which I'm using mostly for out of box summing.
The Busch is just there to let clients know, I do whatever I can to keep expenses low.
Thanks Nick, and get well! Channel your inner warrior.

That's oustandingly cool. Like an FBI agent stole a survelliance vehicle and went crazy for rock & roll...
I recently read somewhere (TapeOP? Pro Sound Review?) where engineers were lamenting the current state of the major-label "live" album. The gist was that ProTools and an M-Box are much easier to deal with, but that the sound definitely suffers now that the halcyon days of the Record Plant remote truck are a mostly bygone era. Maybe you have a bigger niche market than you know of out there?

Thanks Gregg, Brett, goose... It's so nice to save time on setup and focus on mic placement, etc.
Chuckles, in some situations I encounter this constant fuzz in the monitors, like the sound of a dial-up modem screeching my mind numb. However, it doesn't go down to tape, and isn't a bother while monitoring tracking unless the material is very quiet. Even then, I can use the cans/ kill the monitors. I'm powering the whole rig, AC and all with 1 10 gauge 100 ft. cable, so it's all common ground from the power source. It really scared me doing it this way at first, but I've done it MANY times and have had no blackouts. I'm looking to invest in a hardcore "Uninterrupted power source" for cleaner power and a battery backup that will keep me going for 12 hours, even in the event of a blackout. For now, it ain't broke... Why fix it?
