echo layla 3g, reaper and outputs

Post by Cyan421 » Sun Sep 18, 2011 5:03 pm

I just got this echo layla and the outputs are giving me some trouble. It won't let me use regular computer sounds (itunes, video games) on the same outputs as reaper. I'm not sure if Its reaper causing this or if its the Layla or if its a limitation of windows 7 or what but its very annoying to a hobbyist!

If I'm playing music through Itunes and open up reaper to check a mix, then reaper cannot see those two outputs. If I set layla analog 1/2 as my computers default output, reaper cannot see those outputs.

If I open and new session of reaper, its working on analog out 1 and 2 then I open Itunes, Itunes does nothing, locks up, wont play.

I would like to be able to check my mixes against stuff from my Itunes library. Should I just learn to deal with using separate outputs?

Anyone else have similar issues with different hardware/software setups?

This isn't really an issue. It's normal. Those outputs are already in use, so the competing program cannot just grab them away from whatever it is you are running.
