Valhalla Room is terrific. For different reasons, I also like the UAD EMT 140.

I second that, my two favorite reverbs.

OK. bought the Valhalla Room and installed it. I'm gobsmacked. I want my money back on the LEX 224 plug from UA lol! Though I still love the EMT 140 Plate to bits, guess the LEX plug could work for an 80's type thing. The way I see it the EMT for plates and the Valhalla for chamber/rooms. Only downside is its a resource hog, but I would imagine it needs it to work the way it does.

Aether is my most recent reverb purchase and by far the best I've used. It can do both extremely natural sounding reverb and crazy weird modulated sound design things.

i like impulse response verbs a lot. they always feel more real, to me, than regular verbs. maybe they lack that unreal sounding extra high end information.
sometimes happy with waves IR1 but most of the time i go back to TL space, which i got a used iLock license for a while back, real cheap.

funny part is one of my favorite impulse responses is the EMT plate. use it on drums all the time.

Thanks!

Try the Narcissus reverb mode. It is considerably lighter on the CPU than the other reverb modes.

Another cool thing about Valhalla 'verbs is that Sean is very accessible. :)
