how good of a computer do i need?

Post by ethansnew » Sat Jan 14, 2012 1:01 am

hello. the year is 2012. i need to get a computer so i can buy and run protools. It would be cool if it was a good enough computer that i could also run final cut pro and also protools on the same computer, one day. What computer should i get (pc not mac) that is the best mix of cheapest and best computer, and i can upgrade later. what are the specs i am going to be looking for? i will not run porn on this computer, promise.

Thanks.

Hi,

Are you planning on buying the Pro Tools HDX rig? Or just use the less expensive ProTools with a non avid interface?

Also, as stated before, Final Cut Prois Mac only.

Cheers

Some Hackintoshers have got FCP running on various hardware. Such as this guy. Check on http://hackintosh.com/ for more info. (Just remember that whilst making a Hackintosh is fairly straight-forward these days, getting FCP running on it stable might be more of a challenge.)

Do you wanna be a computer engineer? Or do you wanna make music and movies?
