carnhill transformer wiring

Post by edotd » Sun Feb 05, 2012 5:24 pm

Hi everybody,

I recently purchased 2 carnhill VTB 2280 600:600 transformers to patch them into my ITB setup. I checked out the website to wire these to balanced jacks but can't really figure it out. Anyone could give me some help how to wire these?

On the 4th page of this pdf you can find all the info:

Thanks a lot!

Assuming you are using balanced plugs

Input

Tie 2 and 4 together (Series to get 600 ohms)

Pin 1 to tip
Pin 3 to ring
Connect Sleeve from one plug to the other using shield, if you are using a shieled box, connect shield to box

Output
Tie 6 and 7 together (Series to get 600 ohms)

Pin 5 to tip
Pin 8 to ring
Connect sleeve from one plug to the other using shield, if you are using a shieled box, connect shield to box

If it's noisy after you patch it in, you may want to disconnect the shield on each cable from your new enclosure
