HELP! Material recorded on TASCAM MSR16, need to digitize it

Post by Anton Shmerkin » Sat May 12, 2012 12:40 am

Fellas, about 20 years ago we've recorded some stuff on the 1/2 inch tape, 16 channel TASCAM MSR 16. Well, we'd like to finish the record now, but we're having trouble finding a 16-channel 1/2 inch (AMPEX 456) tape recorder. The thing is, we don't want to continue with the record on this machine, we just need it in order to convert whatever is on tape into a digital format (nuendo, protools or what not) just so we may keep working on it. Perhaps you can point out a studio anywhere in Europe that could do this for us: grab whatever is on tape and transfer it into computer?

Hello Anton

Unless you find a studio within driving distance that can play your tape you will have to mail it to them. So you could simply mail it to me in the USA...

I can convert the recorded material to wave files that are easily imported into Pro Tools or any other DAW.

Check out my web site.
