Just upgraded from PT 9 to 10.2 and it won't load. Help?
Hi
I Just upgraded from PT 9 to 10.2 and the installation went seemingly fine but PT won't finish loading when I try to run the application. It gets to "building DAE object" and then stops until the DAE error - 6001 pop-up comes on.
I'm on a Mac, OS10.6.8. I'm running an SSL MADI Extreme card witch has the latest drivers loaded.
I'm a Cubase user and I bought -for compatibility with all the rest of the world- PT9 with the free upgrade to 10 a few months ago and am now just getting around to installing 10.2.
PT9 worked fine.
Why won't 10? DAE-6001?
The AVID site is unhelpful and neither is Google.
Thanks for any hints.

If you're on Windows 7 this may be your fix:

EDIT: Duh, you're on a Mac. Sorry, should have read closer.

Hi Jettison.
The -6001 error message is one to do with your audio hardware drivers.
Here, try to do the following:
Launch Pro Tools
When the Pro Tools splash screen appears hold down the N key
When the Playback Engine dialog appears, release the N key
Select Built-In Output or Pro Tools Aggregate I/O
Click OK
Once you have this, let us know if ProTools will run with your macs built in audio device, or not.
Also, if you do have any bluetooth enabled, disable it from now on, until you sort it out.
Also, try to force run the Macs maintenance routines, you can use Onyx for this:

Post one here what you have tried specifically, so we can try to help you out.
Cheers

Thanks!!!
I tried just disabling Blue Tooth and that did not work.
Then I tried your suggestion Nick, and it worked. I selected the built in line output.
PT10 is up and running. Now I'll use it only very rarely.
Now it's on to upgrading to Cubase 6.5.
Thanks so much.
Another TONB success story.
Cheers

So now you know, the hardware driver for your SSL MADI Extreme card is not working properly with Protools.
You may want to get in touch with SSL, they are fantastic people to deal with.

Ah ha.
My SSL Alpha Link that goes with the MADI card is not connected right now. I had to bring the computer home to do some work and get the upgrade. but I didn't bring the alpha Link with.
Could that be the issue? The actual converter set was not connected.
Thoughts?
Obviously, I'll find out when I reconnect them.
Like I said earlier, PT9 worked fine.
