Has anyone tried the Blue Yet-i Pro?

Post by linus » Tue Aug 21, 2012 7:52 pm

Just got a Blue Yet-i Pro for my birthday. The thought being I could use it at home to sketch ideas I could transfer to my studio. But before I open the box I figured I'd put out some feelers and see if there was any first hand experience with it.
For $250 for a mic, pre, and convertor all rolled into one I don't expect it to a U47/Neve/Apogee but... I think you get my point.

Let me know what you think.
Check out my website for cool songs recorded and played by me with Steve Goulding of the Mekons on drums. Drums were recorded by our own Joel H at Studio G.

I don't have a Yeti Pro but I do have their Snowball mic and while it's just a USB mic I'm fairly impressed with the solid ballz it has for VO work. With instruments...it's a deal breaker. It's no good for anything other than VO IMO, but the Yeti has a better change at accomplishing that task I'd think.
