I'd love a looper that would let you record a couple different loops and then turn them on and off and adjust their volume independently. Even just 2 loops would be good. I need it to cost in the $300 range. Maybe two separate pedals and a mixer? Anyone do this and have any advice on live loop layering? I wanna use it with a Korg Wavedrum to layer up some tasty beats, a la, Will Calhoun. I don't want to use a computer.

yeah the newest boomerang (v 3) can do up to 4 tempo sync'd or tempo independent loops, with adjustable volumes on all of them. the only drawback that most people bring up is that you cannot store the loops. i don't care about that since i don't use any prerecorded stuff for my work with the unit. i've been using the rang III lately in a stereo setup in conjunction with some other pedals and homemade 2 ch mute box so i can do live LCR recording/mixing. http://www.boomerangmusic.com/E156.shtml
if you do want the capability to record and store backing tracks, the larger boss loopstations have that capability. as kslight mentioned the rc 50 will do what you want: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=boss+rc+50 and i think the new rc - 30 let's you do two loops. http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetai ... uctId=1160
the EH looper which is apparently now discontinued had a pretty cool setup where you could have a foot controller and a more traditional console setup. http://www.ehx.com/products/2880 never used one of these but always wanted to. it was just a bit cost prohibitive for me.
you might be able to find some of these used for around $300.

Realize you are talking around $300, but for Repeater-like hardware, this unit is really powerful. But pricey.
