Replacing LED on Boss ce-2

Post by foxpop » Tue Sep 25, 2012 7:00 am

Hello everybody!

This morning I was pleasantly surprised to find that my Japanese Green Label boss ce-2 was working. All but the LED anyways. I've done a fair bit of digital perusing trying to find an answer to how I would go about replacing it. A few other boards stated that LEDs should never go out, and if it isn't lighting up, then something else on the circuit is f'd up. Some said something about the polarity etc... I'm no electronics expert but I've managed to do some minor things. Was wondering if you lovely people could point me in the right direction. Cheers!
Alex~

If you can get access to the LED, first I would check for dc on the anode leg (round side) of the LED. if there is around 5vdc, or so, when the pedal is on, then you just have to replace the LED. Just make sure to put the new LED in place with the flat side in the same orientation as the old one.
