Recording 4 separate Mono tracks @ once - Analog/Digital
Hello,
I was wondering what Digital or Analog recording device can record 4 separate Mono tracks at once. This unit needs to be able to rip the 4 tracks separately as well. Recommend a unit under $700 please!
So far the only one I've found is the 488mkii.
Thanks

What do you mean by "rip?"superunfrontable wrote:Hello,

Do you want an integrated mixer/recorder all-in-one type device, or an interface to use with a DAW and computer?

They have larger units too.
And BTW if it is eventually going into a computer, then just do it once.
Why do something twice when you can do it once?
Cheers.

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Also: I think the Zoom H4N records 4 discrete tracks.

the h4n will do 4 tracks, but two of those are going to come from the built in mics (which are ok...)or through the camera mic 1/8th jack.
So it wont be what you are looking for if you are thinking of pulling a 4 buss mix off of a sound board.
I used to use a 4 track cassette deal that was rack mounted. I think it was a Yamaha?
Some old school weirdos liked to use prosumer SuperVHS decks to record 2 tracks of analogue and 2 tracks of PCM. A friend that worked at Lucasfilm in the 80s and 90s recorded my old band that way.
Using a few 77dxs that he borrowed form Lucasfilm!
Sounded excellent, though we were pretty horrible!
