Single coils will hum. You could try stacked pickups, but they do sound slightly different than true single coils.

You don't say what kind of guitar or form factor pickups. Strat style? P-90 style. Several companies make stacked strat pickups and stacked P-90s. I am a fan of Seymour Duncan products.

Bill Lawrence's noiseless single coils of course.

I got one that looks like the one that's second from the bottom on this page...

...for my Charvel Strat-ish guitar. I love it. It's dead quiet, but has that complex, single coil sound. I've got it in the neck position and it's very bassy, but not too much so. For my tastes anyway. I got it used and it was a great upgrade.

If you are on tight budget Guitarfetish pickups are very good.

$20 import alnico 5 strat pickups wound to 6k ohms will do anytime. Sound like vintage 60's pickups, without the 'vibe' costs applied.

Or, put Seymour or Lindy's kids through college...

Got hum?

They're very good even if you're not on a budget!
