You do know that our currency is worthless, right? When you can generate infinitely more of something with no effort, it is worth zero. It's a mathematical fact if you believe in the law of supply and demand. It can be proven other ways as well.

I'm really just venting a thinly veiled-rant on "PayPal only" gear sellers... Which is completely their peragotive, of course, and one I undersatnd in relation to dealing with unknown, first-time buyers that could be thousands of miles away.

But when you've already done successful business transactions several times with the same person?

Just making me feel a little ostracized, y'know?

I LOVE the Emperor Norton I Promissary Note, though. I think I might start only dealing in ENIP's myself...

Paypal is all about convenience and peace-of-mind.

I prefer using PayPal on most remote transactions. Even if I know the person and peace-of-mind isn't an issue, the convenience is still important.

PayPal is convenient. I've used it for ages. But recently, I've been finding something else has been replacing it for me with all my trusted clients: Free online P2P bank transfers.

You just need someone's email address and the last 4 digits of their bank account (That's a whole lot less info than is readily available on the face of any check.) Unlike even the "personal" options on PayPal, there's no fees (Also, no lying and calling things "personal" that are actually business, which I like.) There's often less waiting time too. (And if you both have the same bank, it's instant.)

Most banks are doing this now. I almost never use PayPal anymore unless its a a store purchase or a total stranger. I am a fan of this development.

In San Francisco the other day, I passed a food truck whose sign said something about shawarma. I felt like testing my intestinal fortitude, so I walked up to the window and asked for some questionable meat wrapped in a half stale pita.

"No, I'm sorry, you can't order here. You have to do it via iphone or ipad."

"I have an android phone, can I use that?"

"No we don't have an android app. Do you have a friend or coworker with an iphone or ipad? They could order for you."

"Yes. they could. Can I use your iphone to facetime with them and ask if they have change for a $20?"

"err, sorry, no ..."

Long story short, I walked 10 feet to the next food truck and got some delicious fried chicken, paid for with as Douglas Adams said, the movement of small green pieces of paper.
